Thanks to those who joined us on Opening Night to celebrate our 41st ANNUAL JURIED ART SHOW. Each year, the Valley Art Center invites area artists, within a 250-mile radius of Chagrin Falls, to submit their artwork for consideration in our annual gallery exhibit.
This year’s panel of jurors, Brandon Holschuh—jeweler/author/regional and national award winner, Ruta Marino--textile/fiber artist and AD Peters—painter and mixed media artist/adjunct faculty at Hiram/Artist in Residence awards, had the tremendous task of creating an exciting art exhibit based on submitted entries.
Awards for Best of Show, 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place and community sponsored awards the Hardy Watercolor Award, the Phyllis Lloyd Memorial Award and the Elsie & Byron Lutman Award were announced Opening Night on Friday, November 2. The result is a marvelous collection of artwork representing 32 different mediums or techniques from 72 regional artists! The 41st ANNUAL JURIED ART EXHIBIT wraps up our successful 2012 gallery season.
In memory of Peg Bowen (Margaret "Peg" Bowen Gallery), the VAC will exhibit, PEG BOWEN RETROSPECTIVE -- IMAGES FROM A LIFE WELL LIVED 1928-2012, opening with our 41st Annual Juried Show on Friday, November 2 and extended to February 3, 2013.
